He died with his son by his side at his residence. After high school he joined the U.S. Army. During his long career in the Army, he served as a cannoneer, gunner, recon sergeant, radar repair specialist and ATC tower operator. He was very proud of his time with the air borne, receiving several citations and ribbons before retiring in 1986. He is survived by his son, Clayton Clowes; his brother, Terry Clowes; three sisters, Linda Beaupre, Geraldine Richards and Joyce Marks; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Marcia (Parks) Clowes ; and his sister, Sandra Fritz. |
