About | Lucy lived all of her life on her beloved Drake's Hill, which was settled by her great-grandfather, George Drake, in 1853. She was associated in the family business, Squeeze Bottling Works, and Drake's Hill Top Market and Restaurant with her father, mother, brother and husband for many years. In 1975 she and Gene opened their home, known as Military Manor, to the elderly and until 1991. Lucy is survived by her husband, Gene Bell; two sons, Brian Bell, G. Drake Bell; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Drake Ritchie; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and one special nephew, Woody Drake. She was predeceased by her parents, Lyman and Lola (McGuire) Drake; her brother, George W. Drake; and infant sister, Betty Ann Drake. |
