About | R. Blake MacPherson, 80, passed away Thursday, June 4th, 2015. He was born in Houlton on July 10th, 1934 to Annie (Graham) MacPherson and Robert MacPherson. He graduated from Houlton High School in 1952. After graduating from high school, he worked on the farm for John Gardiner for a few years. He then worked at Allied Sales for 24 years and York Ford for 13 years until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed going to the family camp on East Grand Lake, boating, spending time with family and listening to Charley Pride. He enjoyed 19 years of retirement with his beloved wife in their home overlooking a beautiful view of Mt. Katahdin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Douglas MacPherson, in 1934. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma (Elliott) MacPherson; and three children: Cindy Metivier and her husband Dean of Saco; Karen Silvestri and her husband Louis of Standish; and Bob MacPherson and his wife, Deana, of Hollis. He has six grandchildren: Jeff Martin, Sarah Bondarko, Marc Metivier, Blake MacPherson, Nick MacPherson and Cole MacPherson; and one great-grandchild, Gabe Martin. He’s also survived by cousins, Andrew MacPherson of Ocala, FL, Jane MacPherson of Houlton and Shirley Robertson of Kirkland, NB. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and his two kitties, Chrissie and Katie. |
