Robert Michael Carpenter 82, of Ludlow, passed away August 11, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born July 20, 1933 in Hammond Plantation, the son of Alfred and Mary (McGuire) Carpenter. Robert grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1951. He met and married Barbara Wood in Sept. 1953. He was a local potato farmer until 1974. In 1972, Robert started Carpenter’s Rubbish Removal and Light Trucking, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed wintering in Florida and Arizona. Robert coached Little League. He enjoyed harness racing. Robert had a strong work ethic that he passed on to his family. Robert is survived his wife Barbara (Wood) Carpenter of Ludlow; two sons Brian Carpenter and his wife Lisa of Bangor, Johnny Carpenter and his wife Sharon McCarthy of Etna; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; his brother Philip Carpenter of Kentucky; his sister Shirley Kelley of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Paul Carpenter and his sister Eleanor Osgood. |
