| About | David Goldsmith Obituary SHAWMUT -- David A. Goldsmith, 31, of Shawmut passed away as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in Waterville. David was born in Waterville on Feb. 15, 1978, the son of Dannel and Christina (King) Goldsmith. He attended Fairfield schools, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1996. He was also in the pioneer graduating class at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone. David was very bright and liked to use his "big words." He was employed with Huhtamaki as a millwright at the time of his passing. David loved the outdoors. He participated in many activities including camping, fishing, swimming, sledding, and horseshoes. He also enjoyed building bonfires. He especially loved riding motorcycles. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his kids. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ruby and Norman Goldsmith; and his maternal grandparents, Regina and Maurice Ruel. David is survived by his mother, Christina McInnis and her husband, Joe, of Oakland; his father, Dannel Goldsmith of Shawmut; his children, Taylor Holmes, Gabriel Goldsmith, and Garrett Goldsmith; his beloved dog, Bodie; a brother, Christopher Goldsmith; a sister, Laurie Goldsmith; nieces, Lindsey, Kellie and Keira; nephews, Devin, and Julian; uncles, Gary Goldsmith, Michael Goldsmith, Randall Goldsmith and his wife, Debbie, and Robert Ruel; an aunt, Donna French and her husband, Robert; and many cousins and special friends. David was a great father, son, brother and friend who will forever be sadly missed by all. Visiting hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, where a funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery in Fairfield Center.
