| About | Matthew Philip Lemieux CLINTON - Matthew Philip Lemieux, 20, of Main Street, died as a result of an automobile accident on Monday, Sept. 1, 1997. He was born in Waterville, Jan. 30, 1977, the beloved son of Gilbert and Melanie (Bolduc) Lemieux. He attended Mount Merici Academy, CIinton Elementary, Lawrence Junior and Senior High School. He was leaving Tuesday to return to Castine, where he was a rising junior at Maine Maritime Academy. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church Parsh of the Holy Spirit. where he was a eucharistic minister along with his parents and brother. He was also a member of the Core Team, youth ministry as well as the Timothy Award '95 and taught religious education. I Timothy 4:12, "Let no one look down on you because of youth, but be a continuing example of love, faith, and purity to believers." Matthew attended Maine Maritime Academy, where he majored in marine engineering. He made the National Dean's list in 1995-1996. He served as a member of the academy's Honor Guard, Drill Team, Fire Brigade. Castine's Volunteer Ambulance Service1995-present, Emergency Squad 1995-96, and Yeoman 1996-97. In addition, Matthew was an honor roll student. He attended Boys' State and was a member of the Math Team, Ski Team and Student Council at Lawrence Senior High School. He was in the Science Olympiad as well as the president of the Clinton Leo Club. Matthew Lemieux left behind his parents, Gilbert and Melanie Lemieux, five younger siblings, Melissa, Christopher, Bryanna, Celia and Zachary, all of Clinton; maternal grandparents, Robert and Julia Bolduc of Waterville; paternal grandparents, Philip and Celine Lemieux of N. Vassalboro; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends, including Dennis Goman, Kris Stewart and Clarence Young. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday September 4, at the Notre Dame Church on Silver Street in Waterville. |
