Events | Richard Lee Easton Obituary Cumberland, MD- Richard Lee Easton, 81, of Cumberland, Maryland, peacefully passed on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Goodwill Retirement Community. Born to the late Raymond Robert Easton and Alberta Pauline Easton (Stroup), he was also preceded in death by his brother Raymond Robert Easton, Jr.; his long-time companion, Caryol Evans; and ex-wife and mother to his three children, Lois Moreland (Gordon). Richard, a dedicated father, is survived by and will be dearly missed by his three children, Carrie and Mike Pannone (Cumberland), Barbara Layton (Denver, CO), and David and Melissa Easton (Salisbury, PA). He loved and adored his grandchildren, Alexis Layton, Michael Layton, Rebecca and Cullin Brown, Isabella and Joshua Lutton, Riley Easton and fiancé William Christophel, and Nolan Easton; and his great granddaughter, Dublin Layton. He loved visits by his nieces and nephews and their families, Judy and Jeff Knopp, Brian Easton, and Karen and Dane Dixon. Blessed also with lots of cousins and friends. His lifelong, best friend and fellow Allegany High School Class of 1961 graduate, Ray Humbertson was like a brother to him attending Camper sporting events and reunions, bowling in leagues and sharing their love of music together. As an Army veteran, he was a patriot who loved his country and supported the American Legion and other local veteran groups. For over twenty-five years, Richard managed the office of L. Bernstein Furniture Company in Cumberland. He loved sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. His pride and joy were his family. Attending his children and grandchildren’s activities were always the highlights of his life. Family and friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 11:00am-12:00pm. A service and celebration of his life will follow at noon. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Thanks to all of his family and friends for their outpouring of love and support!
