About | Cathy lived with ALS for 22 years. In spite of being totally immobile for the last many years, she wrote poetry and she continued to rail for funding for ALS and was the fervent liberal. She held a PhD and worked many years for IBM in the area of humans interacting with computers. As her illness progressed, she helped develop more devices that allowed those in similar conditions to hers to communicate through the computer with motions of eyebrows only. She was an illustrious graduate of BCC, going on to develop and promote many methods of communication that certainly will help all people with challenging disabilities. |
