About Keith Forrester Rogers of Edgewater, MD, age 62, died on September 5, 2021, from cancer at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD. He was born in Washington, D.C. on March 14, 1959, to Farrell W. Rogers and Mary Geiser Rogers. Keith grew up in Oxon Hill, MD, graduated from Friendly Sr. High School in 1977 and attended Frostburg State College where he was an outstanding football player. An avid outdoorsman, Keith won three Maryland State Championships in sporting clays. After leaving school, he was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC, where he became the Sr. Evidence Technician and International Bomb Technician in the FBI Explosives Lab. He later served as an Air Marshall and Explosives Specialist with the FAA and as the Chief of the TSA Canine Explosives Detection Program for ten years. In 2008, he was appointed Major of the Naval District Washington police force and served as Director of Counterterrorism Training. His final professional appointment was as Physical Security Chief at the United States Naval Academy. He is survived by his mother, Mary Rogers, of Northumberland, PA, his daughter, Dani Rogers, of Edgewater, MD, his brother, Tom Rogers, of Rockville, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Farrell W. Rogers. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service took place at the Elks Club, 2 Pythian Drive in Edgewater, MD on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
