About LITTLESTOWN John A. Hammerbacker passed away at home Thursday July 17, 2014. Beloved husband of Julia A. Hammerbacker, son of the late Charles and Mary Hammerbacker, devoted father of Dawn Hammerbacker, John Hammerbacker, Jr, Nathan and Tammy Blankenship, Delia Blankenship and Oscar Vega, dear brother of Sue Kelly and husband Joseph, the late Charles Hammerbacker and wife Beverly, Darrell Hammerbacker and wife Robin, Mr. Hammerbacker is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Hammerbacker was a Littlestown resident for 25 years. He was born in Maryland on April 24, 1944. He was a Millwright at Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, MD for 36 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the VFW post 6954 and the Littlestown Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, fishing and playing pool and enjoyed his latest passion as a master gardener. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice of Hanover, PA, 440 N. Madison St. Hanover, PA 17331. Arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania Inc.
