| About | Monte Dale Bowen, age 65, of North Matewan, WV was born on January 17, 1958 in Williamson, WV a son of the late Trimble Bowen and Elizabeth Ann (Prater) Bryant departed this life on Sunday June 4, 2023 in his home. Monte was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Carpenters Union. Monte loved his wife Angel, and took extra special care of her. He loved gardening and supplied the whole neighborhood with tomatoes from his garden every year. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife Angel Ruth (Evans) Bowen of North Matewan, WV; sons Mike Bowen and his wife Serena of VA, Bobby Bowen and his wife Helen of VA, CJ Bowen of MD, Dennis Toops of Columbus, OH, Dalton Toops of Delbarton, WV; daughters Kelly Melnick and her husband Robby of PA, Kara Browning and her husband Justin of Sevierville, TN; brother Donny Bowen of Williamson, WV; sister Abigal Howard of TN; grandchildren Mason, Hudson and Tucker Bowen, Madelyn and Kaylin Melnick, Miles Bowen, Natty, Jerri-Ann, Jason and Andy Toops, Nelli and Ivy Browning and one on the way. He is also survived by special friends, Margaret Farley, Ray Goad of Matewan, Oliver “Buddy” Harris, Jeremiah Sloan and Judy Spence, as well as a host of family members and friends.
