About Susan Marie Butta-Cavender Obituary
Susan Marie Butta Cavender, 67, passed away peacefully with her husband, Rob, by her side in Largo, FL on March 15, 2024.

She was born March 5, 1957, the third of four children, to the late J. Henry and Anna (Janowiak) Butta. In 2000, she married Robert Cavender, with whom she shared nearly 24 incredible years. Sue was very family oriented and enjoyed traveling and horseback riding. Her best times were traveling to Mexico or on European river cruises or to China and bringing people together for food, drink, and good times.

Sue graduated from Southern High School Class of 1975 and received her B.A. from the University of Maryland. She worked for the phone company in its many iterations for over 30 years and was a Catholic. She fought the neurological diseases of Pure Autonomic Failure and Parkinsonism for many decades. She is survived by her husband, Rob Cavender, of Largo, FL; by her sisters Anne Butta of Stevensville and Marybeth (Bob) Lebherz of Frederick, her brother David (Rene) Butta of Annapolis; by nieces Jenna (Scott) Daly, Maggie (Josh Russin) Lebherz, and Hannah (Stephen) Link, all of Frederick, and nephew David (Hannah) Butta of Millersville and by many great-nieces and great-nephews to whom she was utterly devoted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Sue may be sent to the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation (make checks payable to UMBF, Inc.) in support of The Parkinson's Movement Disorders Center. Please send your check to: University of Maryland School of Medicine Office of Development Attn: Traci Morgan 31 S. Greene Street, Third Floor Baltimore, MD 21201. Alternatively, you may also make a memorial or honorary gift by calling the Office of Development at 410.706.8503 or online by clicking "Give" at medschool.umaryland.edu.

She would have said to be kind, to spend time with friends and loved ones, and to cherish the time you have together. Mohn Funeral Home in Seminole, FL is in charge of arrangements. Memories can be shared at their website www.mohnfuneralhome.com. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Susan Butta-Cavender
