| About | William J. Greenwell, Sr. "Jimmy" "Pete", beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Shady Side, MD and formerly from Dunkirk, MD, passed away suddenly on July 14, 2026. Born on July 24, 1958, to the late Thomas and Judy Greenwell, he was a 1976 graduate of Southern High School in Harwood, MD. Jimmy was employed for 40 years with Baltimore Gas & Electric. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the Commanders and Orioles, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Greenwell. He is survived by his wife, Janie Greenwell of Shady Side, MD; his son, William J. (Maria) Greenwell, Jr. of Millersville, MD; his daughter, Pamela Argoe of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Anthony Argoe, Joey Greenwell, Olivia Argoe, Jenna Greenwell, Alexis Pumphrey, Michael Pumphrey, and Jacie Pumphrey; his brothers, Thomas (Debbie) Greenwell of Friendship, MD, Duane (Roseann) Greenwell of Shady Side, MD, and Stephen Greenwell of Shady Side, MD; his sisters, Theresa Morcombe of Preston, MD, Sue (Brian) Conner of Edgewater, MD; as well as many cousins nieces, and nephews. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jimmy's life on Monday, July 20 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 21 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD.
