| About | CHESAPEAKE, VA Susan E. "Susie" Hartman Larsen, born on April 21, 1958, in the sunny shores of Key West, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 66. Susie's journey through life was marked by her deep love for family, unwavering faith, and a zest for life that touched everyone she met. A resident of Chesapeake, Susie found great joy in her work as a receptionist with Towne Bank, where her warm smile and friendly demeanor greeted everyone who walked through the doors. She held an Associate's Degree from Tidewater Community College and was an active member of the Great Bridge Baptist Church, Master Gardener's Club, and Greenbrier Swim and Racket Club. Susie's passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. She delighted in baking delicious treats, nurturing her lush garden, and embarking on travels to Hawaii or any destination that allowed her to create cherished memories with her beloved sons. Her early years spent on a farm in Washington State instilled in her a love for nature and a down-to-earth spirit that she carried throughout her life. With a strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Susie strove to be a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her big heart embraced all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark of love and kindness. She was not only a devoted family woman but also a creative mind, having designed blueprints for several Gibraltar Federal Savings Banks in Annapolis, Maryland. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Scott G. Larsen; her parents, Ruth Gardner Hartman and Clyde Norman Hartman, Sr. Susie leaves behind a legacy of love to her two sons, Gregory W. Larsen and his wife Katrina, and Bryan S. Larsen and his wife Hailey; her four cherished grandchildren, Sophia M. Larsen, Addy Sage Larsen, Bennett Scott, and Noah Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Jean Gaitlin, and her brother, Clyde N. Hartman. Interment will take place beside her beloved husband, Scott, in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. |
