| About | John Whitney - Obituary John “Just ask John” Whitney John Whitney, 56, a 35-year resident of Annapolis, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2014. Born on March 21, 1958 to Richard and Beverly Whitney, John had a passion for American history, classic rock, home improvements and the carpentry skills he learned from his beloved grandfather, Harold Mansfield. Along with his contracting business, he was the Community Manager for Epping Forest and former store manager for Safeway. He is survived by his wife of 10 years & best friend, Mary; three step-children, Jeffrey (Lauren), Kevin and Tina Earley; two grandchildren, Griffin and Hutton Earley; his father, Richard (Sharon) Whitney; two sisters, Donna (Dean) Barefoot and Juliane Whitney; three brothers, James, Christopher (Jody) and Ricky Whitney; mother-in-law, Faye Clark; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Ann Marie) and Gary (Sharon) Clark; sisters-in-law, Terry (Glenn) Highsmith and Carol (Steve) Ross and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD where a celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at 10am. Interment will follow at Lakemont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in John’s memory to The American Red Cross. |
