About Mr. Carl David Biddinger, 66, of 9830 Woodsboro Road, near Woodsboro, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born March 23, 1938, in New Midway, he was the son of the late John D. and Dorothy Kline Biddinger.

Mr. Biddinger was a 1956 graduate of Walkersville High School. He was a member of Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, near Woodsboro, and a member of Glenn W. Eyler American Legion Post, Woodsboro. Mr. Biddinger served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller from 1956 to 1959 and received numerous awards, one being Outstanding Airman of the Year. His entire working career was in construction and he retired in 2002 from Concrete Systems, Woodsboro. He enjoyed NASCAR, baseball and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Luke David Biddinger and wife Sharon of Carroll Valley, Pa.; a daughter, April Hudnall of Statesville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Albaugh and Dakota Hudnall; a sister, Shirley Ritundo and husband Dave of Keedysville; three brothers, Russell Kline and wife Catherine of Taneytown, John J. Biddinger and wife Vina of Panama City, Fla., and Larry Biddinger and wife Margaret of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a special friend, Linda R. Biddinger of Woodsboro.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Long, in 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Richard P. Rutkauskas Jr., his pastor, officiating. Military interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 10. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, c/o Susan Baker, 12027 Keymar Road, Keymar, Md. 21757.
