About | Carroll Edward Crum "Footney", 73, of Walkersville, has gone to join his loving parents in Heaven, on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Ballenger Creek Center, Frederick. He was the husband of Alice A. Crum, his wife of 45 years. Born on May 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Edna M. Toms Crum of Walkersville. Carroll was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was an outgoing person who loved to watch sports, playing softball, bowling and hanging out with his family and friends. Carroll was a long time member of the Brunswick Eagles Club, AMVETS and American Legion. He worked at American Optical for 18 years and as a painter and bricklayer for Lewis Masonry for several years. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters: Dena and Carol Ann of Martinsburg, WV; Betty and son Blake of Williamsport; sons: Carroll and Austin of Virginia Beach; step-children: Guy and Nikki Cornell of Martinsburg; twin brother, Raymond and his son Rayjay and daughter Beth and granddaughter Katlyn of Walkersville, brother Anthony and wife Linda and their daughter Hannah of Thurmont; aunts: Carol Ann Divel of Union Bridge and Katherine "Kitty" Heard of Frederick, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Saturday, September 10, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville where services will begin at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to offset medial and funeral expenses to The Carroll Crum, Memorial Checking Fund at any PNC Bank.
