| About | Christopher (Chris) Eugene Dorsey, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2020 in Hagerstown, MD. Born May 11, 1983 in Frederick, MD, he is the son of Rosalynn (Karl) Layer of Hagerstown and Jeffery L. Bowie. Chris graduated from Walkersville High School in 2001. Following graduation, Chris held many careers but had a love for gambling. He took many partners, friends, relatives, and family members who wanted to come along and spend the day (yes, the day) and into the night with him. He also loved to cook. His famous words were, “I be chefing it up.” Chris would prepare many meals for family members and loved to spice it up. He was full of life, had a wide smile and talked to everyone and anyone he would meet. He would light up any room with his entrance. Chris is survived by his: wife of 6 years, Samantha Dorsey; 9 children, Amajanae, Dayvion, Davonte, Zymair, Zyvair, Ty’Lee, Samiah, Masiah, and Zae; mother-in-law, Sharon Grail of Frederick; siblings, Derrick Dorsey (Amber) of Waynesboro, PA, Brittany Cherenfant (Paul) of Hagerstown, Trisheka Thompson, Shaynon Thompson, Karleas Thompson, Karl (Jasmine) Layer, Jr., all of Frederick, Jeffery Bowie, Jr., Jocques Bowie, Dezauan Bowie, La’sah Bowie, Najae Bowie, Azzoria Bowie, Koda Bowie, Cymere Bowie, Ashiki Thompson, Derrick Goines, Jr., Shaccara Goines, and Jarvis Thompson; brother-in-law, Joshua Lochner of Frederick; numerous uncles and aunts, Uncle (and godfather) Thomas Dorsey (Crystal), Brian Dorsey (Debra), William Dorsey (Terez), Glen Bowie, all of Frederick, Patrick Myers (Christine) of PA, Shirlene Bowie, Barbara (Bobbie) Bowie, Wanda Hall, Penny Bowie (Larry), Jerry Bowie, Barry Bowie (Chastity), Wayne Bowie (Michelle) all of Frederick, Grafton Layer (Joyce), Beverly Pannell (Bruce) of Adamstown, MD, Ricky Layer (Betty), and Camilia Hopper (Bruce); godmother, Nicolea Ambush; paternal grandmother, Lucille Bowie; maternal grandmother, Betty Dorsey, all of Frederick; and numerous relatives and cousins, too many to mention.
