| About | On November 28, 2022, Dolores Ann Denn, 83, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life at home surrounded by devoted family. She was the beloved wife of Milton Denn Sr. for 66 years. The second of five siblings, Dolores was born Jan 5, 1939, in Detour, Maryland, to the late Clarence Ernest Smith and Edna Mae (Hawkins) Smith. She graduated from Walkersville High School in 1956. After graduation, she worked at the Walkersville Sewing factory and later as a rural mail carrier for Walkersville post office for many years. Dolores derived great joy from raising her four boys. Her free time was spent gardening, crafting and decorating, cooking and baking, singing, and traveling. Spending the holidays with family and friends was a particular joy. Dolores made holidays special by cooking each grandchild's favorite pie for each holiday. She had a special way with animals. She would bottle feed abandoned bunnies and kittens and tend to any animal in distress. Even wild animals and birds were aware of her kind and gentle nature and would approach her. She is survived by her husband Milton Denn Sr.; her sons Chuck Denn and Mark (Sue) Denn; daughter-in-law Karen Denn; grandsons Josh (Leslie) Denn, Orin (Fiance Morgan Shoemaker) Denn, Alex Denn, Jeremy (Sarah) Myers; granddaughters Callie Denn and Casey (John) Carter; and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Clarence E (Esther) Smith Jr., Doug Smith, and Ronnie (Toni) Smith. She is preceded in death by sons James B. Denn and David E. Denn, and brother Teddy E. Smith. A celebration of Dolores's life will take place at 1pm December 17, 2022 at St Pauls Lutheran Church, Walkersville MD or live streamed at https://m.facebook.com/saintpaulslutheranofwalkersville/?mibextid=LQQJ4d A private burial will take place at a later date.
