About | Ernest Paul Naundorf, age 71, of Walkersville, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018, following a lengthy illness. Born November 24, 1946 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Paul Hans and Julia Faye Hill Naundorf. He was the husband of Phyllis Toms Naundorf and they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5. Mr. Naundorf was a 1964 graduate of Walkersville High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam until 1970 as a Petty Officer 2nd Class, serving on the USS Hoel. He was employed as a truck driver for 42 years, retiring in 2014. He was accident free his entire career. He enjoyed going out for breakfast, WWII history, collecting knives and guns, fishing and boating. He was looking forward to his grandson, Schuyler’s wedding at the end of September. He also anxiously awaited his granddaughter, Allie’s return home from California. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter, Kimberly Naundorf Fogle and husband Bill of Walkersville; grandson, Schuyler Fogle and fiancée Anna of Westminster; granddaughter, Alexzandra Fogle of Reston, VA; son, Michael Werdebaugh of Littlestown, PA; brother, James Naundorf and wife Terry of Frederick; sister, Norma Jean Sears and husband Charlie of Waynesboro, PA; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. Rev. Fred Horner, his brother-in-law and former pastor of Wakefield Valley Bible Church, will officiate. Military interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
