| About | George W. Smith (G.W.) passed away on October 21, 2022 at the age of 75. Born January 14th, 1947 at Frederick Health Hospital, he was the only child of the late George William and Mary Catherine Crum Smith. G.W. attended Woodsboro Elementary School and graduated from Walkersviile High School, class of 1965. He was very active in sports, especially track, running on the varsity team in 1963, '64, and '65. He worked many years for Frederick County in Winchester Hall. He was later employed at State Farm Insurance, Ramar Record Retention, and his final ten years of employment at Frederick Health Hospital, as a full-time courier, retiring in 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Diana Smith, his beloved granddaughter, Charlotte Amaya Richter, and former wife, Patricia Smith. He has many close friends and cousins. A funeral will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home in Walkersville, located at 40 Fulton Avenue, on Saturday October 29th at 1 pm with a viewing before the service at noon. George W.
