| About | Harold Guy Stover Sr. of Wolfsville, MD passed on Friday, May 22, 2026 at his home with his family by his side. Born in New Midway, MD on July 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Roland Stover and Norma Frounfelter Stover. He was the husband of Connie J. Eldridge Stover for 50 years, who died in May 2025. He graduated from Walkersville High School was drafted in the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge Harold worked as a stone mason with his father Roland for many years before becoming a Correctional Officer at Maryland Correctional Institution in Hagerstown. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and Thurmont Legion. He enjoyed pitching horse shoes, shooting pool, bowling and playing cards. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with service buddy Cliff Smith and wife Marty from Ohio. In addition to his wife, Harold is preceded in death by his sister Frances Stover Bostian. He is survived by his children Harold G. Stover Jr. (wife Amy), Barbara J. Weddle, and grandchildren Connor Stover, Morgan Weddle, and Caity Stover, and sister Wanda Stover of Taneytown. Services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 10am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. Doors will be open during the afternoon. Arrangements were made by J.L.
