About | Harold Lee “Doc” Dougherty, 76, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his residence. Born Nov. 14, 1946 in Detour, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Dougherty and Margaret Stitely Dougherty. He was a 1964 graduate of Walkersville High School in Maryland and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a heavy equipment operator for the County Government. He was a member of Haughs Lutheran Church in Detour, Md. He served as President of the Libertytown Recreational Council for many years and was instrumental in getting a park for them. He coached girls softball for many years. In addition, he was a member of Sertoma Club in Frederick, Md., American Legion in Woodsboro, Md.; V.F.W. in Salisbury and the Moose Lodge in Spencer. He enjoyed farming, International Tractors, collecting baseball cards, coins and NASCAR collectables. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Lee Brown Dougherty, whom he married in 1970; son, Charles Bradley Dougherty (Stephanie) of Charlotte; daughter, Amanda Parsons (Brandon) of Kernersville; brothers, Ronald Dougherty of Harney Taneytown, Md., Stuart Dougherty (Elizabeth) of Eldersburg, Md.; sister-in-law, Susan Dougherty; brother-in-law, Austin Schroyer; grandchildren, Mackenzie Lee Dougherty, Sydney Jordyn Parsons, Savanna Madisyn Parsons and Remington Robert Parsons. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Summersett Funeral Home. Service: There will be a Memorial Service in Libertytown, Maryland at a later date. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Donor's choice of Doc's interests.
