About | Mr. James Arthur Brown, 53, of Frederick, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born January 31, 1959 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Mildred Wiles Brown of Walkersville and the late George W. Brown. He was the husband of Carol Smith Brown, his wife of 31 years. Mr. Brown was a 1977 graduate of Walkersville High School and he attended Frederick Community College. He was a member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church where he was active in the Sunday school. He had been employed as a service manager with various auto dealerships, Century Ford of Mt. Airy, Jenkins Motors of Frederick and VOB of Bethesda. He enjoyed fishing, always kept busy with projects, in earlier years had been active as a judge in the agricultural field, and served as a cook at many of the Rocky Hill Strawberry Festivals. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica Brown and friend, Joseph Rogers of Frederick; 3 brothers, Ronald W. Brown and wife Glenda of Libertytown, Jack S. Brown and wife Roxanne of Fairplay, Tony L. Brown Sr. and wife Robin of Damascus and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3 at Rocky Hill Lutheran Church with church pastor, Rev. Gordon Narvesen, officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 2.
