About | Mr. James J. Maria II, 57, of Frederick, passed away Friday, July 4, 2008, after a lengthy battle with colon cancer. He was the loving and devoted husband of Cynthia Maria, his wife of 35 years. Born Jan. 2, 1951, at Fort Belvoir, Va., he was the son of Dolly Maria of Dover, Tenn., and the late James J. Maria. He graduated from Walkersville High School in 1969 and from the University of Maryland in 1973. He enjoyed working in the garage on his 1966 Mustang, with his son, Adam, and watching his daughters, Kelley and Heather, play sports. He loved watching movies with his daughter, Emily, and playing with his grandson, Wyatt. As an automotive technical advisor/consultant, he was an avid fan of NASCAR. In addition to his wife, mother, children, and grandson, he is survived by a brother, John Maria and his wife, Tammy, and their children, Garrett and Madison Maria. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 I-15 N., Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9. The Rev. Dr. Richard Fredericks will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Damascus Road Community Church, P.O.
