About Joyce Blessing Clingan, age 84, of Keymar, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Carroll Hospital Center, following a brief illness.

Born August 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Madelyn Blessing. She was the wife of Earl Raymond Clingan, her husband of 63 years, who predeceased her in 2021.

Mrs. Clingan was employed in banking for most of her working career, retiring from Bulldog Federal Credit Union, Hagerstown. She was a member of Mt. Zion Haugh's Lutheran Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and served as church treasurer for many years until just recently.

She enjoyed crafting while sitting at her kitchen table, as well as feeding birds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter. For many years Joyce enjoyed monthly luncheons with girls from her Walkersville High School graduating class. She also loved eating at Liberty Road Seafood.

Surviving are children, Tammy Lynne Blevins of Taneytown and Terry Allen Clingan and wife Sandy of Littlestown, PA; grandchildren, Tanya Golden and husband Tim, Kelsie Plank and husband Tyler, Corey and Cullen Clingan; great-grandchildren, Courtney Reaver and husband Rob, Dani, Gabi and Brooki Golden and Brantley Plank; great-great granddaughter, Quinn Reaver; sisters-in-law, Mary Blessing and Barbara Clingan; brothers-in-law, Elwood Clingan and wife Geraldine and Paul Clingan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Michael Ray Clingan in 1961; brothers, Larry and Ronnie Blessing; and son-in-law, Ronnie Blevins.

Family and friends will be received at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Wednesday, December 6 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. Her nephew, Sam Clingan, will officiate. Interment will follow in Haugh's Cemetery, Ladiesburg.
