About | On Tuesday, November 12th Kenneth Aubrey Snoots, Sr. (retired principal in MCPS) passed away peacefully at home in Rockville. He had been battling ALS. Ken was the beloved husband of Joyce (Dodson) Snoots for 50 years; devoted father of Ken Jr., Mike and Kevin; loving pap pap to his 8 grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Krista, Kristofer, Mikey, William, Jack, Sam and Charlie; brother to James Snoots (Joanne). Ken went to Frostburg and received a Bachlor of Science Degree and later he recieved his Masters in Adminstrtion at Western Maryland. He started his career as a teacher in MCPS and later became a principal in the county. Being active made Ken happy and he loved playing sports. Baseball was his favorite although in later years he played basketball, a lot of tennis and golf. At Frostburg he was on the baseball team for 4 years. He is in the Hall of Fame there and recently received the Jim Anderson Award (2great honors) from Frostburg. We have done lots of traveling and enjoyed our beach house in the summer months. Most of all Ken loved his family and being with them though! He will be greatly missed!!!!! Relatives and friends will be received at PUMPHREY’S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery (Rt. 28 just off I-270), Rockville, MD on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 3-6 pm and where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Assoc. chapter DC/MD/VA. |
