About Mr. Larry Gene Strawsburg, 62, of Frederick, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at his home. He was the husband for 40 years of Nancy L. Kint Strawsburg.

Born Dec. 31, 1942 in Woodsboro, Md., he was the son of the late Charlotte Cramer. A graduate of Walkersville High School, Larry was a kiln operator for 29 years with Boral Brick.

A Little League coach with the FOP Little League and the Woodsboro Recreation League, he also managed the Creagerstown Men's Softball League. An avid Redskins fan, Larry enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, and was a Civil War history buff. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all that knew him.

Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Rick Strawsburg and wife Wanda of Walkersville, Mic Strawsburg and wife Terry of Frederick, and Tim Strawsburg and wife Sue also of Frederick; seven grandchildren, Zach Foster, Genny Strawsburg and fiance Mark Baldwin, Tiffany Bradley, Sarah Foster, Timmy Strawsburg, Alex Strawsburg and Chris Strawsburg; and mother-in-Iaw Genny Federline. His pets, Peaches the dog and Spike the cat, will also miss him. Larry was also preceded in death by his "Mom" Lilian Strawsburg.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Strawsburg, Mic Strawsburg, Tim Strawsburg, Zach Foster, Mark Baldwin and Timmy Strawsburg. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Strawsburg.
