| About | Larry William Blessing, age 69, of Keymar, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. Born February 10, 1948 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Frank I. and Madalyn Kaufman Blessing and the grandson of the late Benjamin and Rhoda Blessing. Larry was a 1966 graduate of Walkersville High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972, with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic with several companies in Frederick County, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed coin collecting, helping many friends with their collections, fishing, attending auctions and spending time with his family, always joking and laughing. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Diane Blessing of Keymar; 4 grandchildren, Bryan Cashour, Nathan Knott, Jared Maloff Jr. and Penelope Cashour; a sister, Joyce Clingan and husband Raymond of Keymar; a brother, Ronald Blessing and wife Mary of Hanover, PA; one niece, Tammy Blevins, one nephew, Terry Clingan, and special friend Dorothy Kelly. He was predeceased by a son, Bryan W. Blessing in 1983. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with Rev. Dr. Michelle Carlson, pastor of Mt. Zion Haugh's Lutheran Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
