| About | Margaret Marie Peddicord, age 95, of Frederick, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born December 17, 1930, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Atlee Edward Green and Dorothy Smith Green. She was the beloved wife of Richard Arthur Peddicord, who preceded her in death in 2007. The couple shared 29 years of marriage. Margaret is survived by her sister, Doris F. Bloom of Union Bridge and family: Charlie and Ellie Fogle and children, Halle (Noah) and Tyler, all of North Carolina; Susie Wetzel of Union Bridge and children J.T. (Savannah) of Glen Burnie and Brandon (Heather) of Taneytown and children Easton, Atlee and Calvin; Dale Bloom and Stephanie of Westminster and son D.J.; Mariah and Zach Ott of Taneytown and children, Jada, Briggs and Landon; multiple other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her dearest special friends, Roger and Patty Smith of Thurmont; and fur friend, Colby. Margaret was a 1948 graduate of Walkersville High School. She dedicated many years of service to her work, first at Claire Frock Sewing Factory for 28 years, and later with Westminster Knit for 13 years. Margaret furthered her education through Frederick County adult education. She retired in 1991 at the age of 62. Margaret was a devoted member of Chapel Lutheran Church, where she served faithfully as Sunday School secretary, a member of the church council, and kitchen manager for many years. She was also a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. She found great joy in cooking and hosting family and friends in her home, tending to her flower gardens, and traveling. Margaret's family would like to thank staff and nurses from Frederick Health Hospice for their loving care and compassion. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home-Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4 at Chapel Lutheran Church, 11109 Daysville Rd., Frederick. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Cemetery.
