| About | Michael Thomas Neal, age 57 of Frederick, died on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the University of Miami Hospital. Born December 15, 1968, in Bethesda, Maryland. Michael was the son of Thomas Eugene Butt. He was the loving husband of Kerrie Lynn Neal. He was a graduate of Walkersville High School. He enjoyed cheering on Maryland football, the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins. Michael found great happiness in spending time with his family and listening to music. Above all, he treasured his role as a Pop Pop and was especially proud to be affectionately known as "Hip-Hop Pop-Pop," a nickname that reflected the love and joy he brought to those closest to him. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are daughter Maddelena Farling (Eric), grandchildren Roman, Greyson and Delainey, sisters Bonnie Holmes (Randy), Mary Sigler, nephew Marco Johnson (Rachel), Ayden, great-nephew Dominic, his in-laws Keating and Mary Clark, cherished friends Chris and Amanda and Kim and Marco. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Landgren (University of Miami Hospital), Dr. Huff, Mary Theresa, Linda Taylor and the entire oncology staff at Hopkins.
