About | Anita E. (Parent) Rocha, 63, of Lakeville, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of Paul B. Rocha and the late Robert B. Levrault. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Emelda (Cote) Parent. She was a 1963 graduate of Bishop Stang High School and a 1967 graduate of Bridgewater State College, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in teaching. She was employed as a seventh grade English teacher at the George R. Austin Middle School in Lakeville. A member of the National Educators Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association, she received a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Plymouth County Educators Association for 35 years as a teacher. Mrs. Rocha was a member of Sts. Martha and Mary Church and attended Mass daily. She was a docent at the Whaling Museum in New Bedford and enjoyed going to the Providence Performing Arts Center, reading, traveling, gardening and walking the dog. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Bethany R. Levrault of Bolder, Co; two brothers, Arthur E. Parent of Carver and Raymond E. Parent of Middleboro; and several nieces and nephews. |
