| About | Althea (Delano) Slango Active Church and Choir member Concord Monitor Tuesday, June 16, 2009 ANTRIM - Althea Slango, 72, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, after a long illness. She was born in Bourne, MA to Jessie (Crosby) DeLano and Roland DeLano Sr. She attended Bourne High School graduating in 1956 where she was on the basketball team. She married Thomas Slango Sr. of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and followed his Air Force career to all parts of the United States and overseas while raising five children and managing a constantly moving household. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peterborough where she participated in the choir and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, did large jigsaw puzzles, and collected cranberry and blue glass. She enjoyed discovering unfamiliar roads and, when she was able RV-ing with her husband. A private family viewing was held with a later memorial service. |
