About | In Memory of Beatrice Baker Beatrice M. Baker, 90, of Buzzards Bay died Saturday, June 28, 2008. Born in Hyannis, she was the daughter of Charles O. & Emmie L. (Nickerson) Dill-Fulcher. She was raised on Cape Cod and spent most of her life in Buzzards Bay. A 1935 graduate of Bourne High School, she was well known in the town as early as the 1940's when she was a volunteer at the USO in Buzzards Bay during World War II. She was an avid bowler, winning numerous Women's League trophies. In the 1980's, she was featured in newspaper articles describing her active life in the community; she was the center of "coffee klatches" in the now defunct Buzzards Bay Pharmacy. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Robert Weston, Charles A. Baker, Merle F. Harris; a son, Charles H. Weston of Vero Beach, Florida; three brothers, Wallace F. Dill, Clayton F. Fulcher and Edgar S. Fulcher; and one sister, Nellie L. Reynolds. A graveside service was held at the Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Avenue, Cotuit. |
