| About | Athol Daily News April 14, 2017 Bradford Sidney Raleigh, 87 ATHOL — Bradford Sidney Raleigh died Monday, April 10, 2017, at home. Mr. Raleigh was born June 17, 1929 in Bourne, the son of Walter and Elsie (Perry) Raleigh. He was a descendant of the Perry and Raleigh families of Cape Cod dating back to 1630. He graduated from Bourne High School in 1947 and joined the U.S. Army. He served duty in Europe and Korea. After leaving the service he became a longtime worker and supervisor in industrial roofing. In retirement he moved to Athol where he had lived for nearly 25 years. He was an avid bicyclist and cycled the Athol and North Quabbin area daily, doing thousands of miles each year. Burial was private at his request. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. |
