About Edward Avery Braley

Edward Avery Braley of Monument Beach passed away peacefully on June 10th at home after a long battle with prostate cancer.

A lifelong resident of Monument Beach, he was a local plumber and longtime member of the Bourne Fire Dept. call firefighting force, retiring as Captain in 2007.

He graduated from Bourne High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964 as a Seabee. He was stationed at Port Hueneme, CA, Taipei, Taiwan where he met his wife, and also the Island of Guam.

He was a member of Cawnacomb Sunshine Masonic Lodge, Weary Travelers Club, Wareham Elks, Bourne United Methodist Church and the Cape Cod Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America.

He enjoyed times with his wife, his sons and their families.

He also enjoyed working on and driving his Model A Fords and operating his model train layout.

Visiting hours were held Tuesday June 16th, from 4 to 7 PM at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne.

His funeral was held Wednesday June17th at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment followed at So. Monument Beach Cemetery with Military Honors.
