| About | Frank G. Anderson Jr. Obituary Frank G. Anderson, Jr. April 18, 1931 - November 21, 2008 PRESTON - Frank G. Anderson, Jr., 77, husband of Wanda (Fielding) Anderson of Old Jewett City Rd., Preston, died Friday at The Mystic Manor. Frank was born in Bourne, MA on April 18, 1931, the son of the late Frank Graham and Eliza (Thomas) Anderson. He was a 1949 graduate of the Bourne High School and attended St. Anselm's College before entering a career in the Navy in 1951. He began as a Corpsman 1st class and attained the rank of Captain, Medical Services Corps and was a Navy hospital administrator before retiring from the Regional Command, Great Lakes, IL, in 1984. In 1949, prior to entering the Navy, he met his wife, Wanda (Fielding) Anderson, whom he married in 1955. They moved from Navy station to station for the next 34 years, settling in Preston where he and Wanda operated the Wanfran Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Inc. working with wildlife that came to them as orphans or were injured. Visitation was held at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Avenue in Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 243 Route 165, Preston. Burial followed with full military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery.
