Gordon retired as a Senior Master Sargent in Cheyenne in 1976. He worked as a clerk at Country General in Cheyenne, however the last 16 years of employment he was the face of Sam’s Club, meeting and greeting people, young and old alike. His disposition was truly one of integrity, as well as open and friendly to anyone who knew him. Gordon belonged to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and loved to purchase, overhaul, and fly his Cessna 150. He was awarded Master Pilot in 2011 from the Department of Transportation of Federal Aviation Administration. He loved gardening and was also known as a “fox whisperer” to many a fox who would come to Gordon unafraid to receive eggs from his clutches. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol Ann Ellis in 2003 and a daughter Maria Elisabeth Ellis. © Wyoming Tribune Eagle March 17, 2015 Gordon was graduated from Bourne High school in 1953 (Falmouth Enterprise, Friday, June 04, 1954, Page 9) |
