| About | Obituaries, South Coast Today Oct. 16, 2002 BOURNE -- John B. Bourne, 83, of Buzzards Bay died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at the Cape Heritage Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Mattapan, he was the son of the late John K. and Evelin (Bodfish) Bourne. Raised in Bourne, he attended public schools here and later graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in agronomy. He attended St. Patrick's Church in Wareham. After serving in the Army during World War II, he went to work as a civil engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where he worked for more than 30 years, retiring in 1984. A member of the VFW and the Bourne Historical Society, he enjoyed traveling and gardening and was active with the Council on Aging. His funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, High Street, Wareham. |
