| About | BARNSTABLE Katharine Merritt Adams, 88, of Centerville died at home Tuesday, December 7, 2004. She was the widow of the Rev. Sydney Adams. Born in Cataumet, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse, and she graduated from Bourne High School in 1932 and from Simmons College in 1936. Mrs. Adams and her husband served Methodist congregations in Sunapee, N.H., and Auburndale until they moved to New Bedford where the Rev. Adams served with the Inter Church Council of Greater New Bedford for 22 years. After her husband's death in 1979, she returned to Cape Cod. She attended Osterville Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and traveling, and was an avid gardener, beekeeper and photographer. Her funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cataumet Methodist Church, 1093 County Road, Cataumet, followed by burial in the Cataumet Cemetery. Arrangements were by John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills. |
