| About | Cape Cod Times High school senior dies in Bourne crash By JORDAN McCARRON, STAFF WRITER June 3, 2001 BOURNE - A high school senior only days away from graduation died yesterday morning when she was thrown from her car after rolling it over on Route 28. Laura Kathryn Johnson,17, a talented artist known also for her sense of humor, was pronounced dead at the scene barely 12 hours after finishing her last class Friday afternoon at Bourne High School. The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. as Johnson was heading northbound on Route 28 near the town landfill when her car hit a guardrail. She swerved, crossed the raised center median and rolled over according to the state police. Johnson was looking forward to graduation June 9 and moving to San Diego to attend college. |
