About | September 3, 1926 - January 4, 2011 Manuel J. “Manny” Cardoza,Jr., 84, of Bourne, died January 4, 2011. Born in Bourne, he was the son of the late Manuel J. and Antonia (Montero) Cardoza, Sr. He married Eugenia “Jenny” Spinola in 1952 and she died Sept. 10, 1994. He graduated from Bourne High School and Emmanuel College. Manny started his landscaping/paving business while he was in High School and stayed active until the time of this death. He organized Cape Verdean dances in the 1950’s and 60’s from Cape Cod to New York City. He played semi-pro football, coached the Bourne Men’s Basketball in the 1960’s. Manny was an owner and lover of race horses from the 1980’s until the present and was active with the Bourne Democratic Committee in the 1960’s and 70’s. He served as Park C ommissioner for the town of Bourne in the 1980’s. He was a member of the Weary Traveler’s Lodge and enjoyed vacationing in Florida. Visitation was held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Rd., Pocasset. Burial followed in the Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne. |
