| About | Ruth Carolyn Driscoll March 18, 1929 - March 14, 2016 Hyannis, MA - Ruth Carolyn Driscoll (you probably knew her as "Sarge" or "Dr. Doolittle") entered eternal life on Monday, March 14, 2016. Her spirit is carried on by her 2 children, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and an extended family of friends from every walk of life. Ruth grew up in Sagamore, MA and was a 1947 graduate of Bourne High School. Prior to retiring, Ruth worked for many years at the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod in West Barnstable, MA. She was a member of Osterville Baptist Church. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Ruth during her 86 years, among them: Animals, whether groundhog or crow, make the best listeners. Always buy quality pieces of furniture then decorate with yard-sale finds. Pay your bills on time and you'll receive the best service. And if God leads you to it, He will lead you through it. In her lifetime, Ruth made casual acquaintances dear friends, time after time, spent her inexhaustible energy helping her community and impressed all who entered her home with her memorable interior-décor. Ruth is reunited with her beloved son Bobby, grandparents, parents and predeceased siblings. Friends visited with Ruth's family 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. A private family graveside service was held at the Sagamore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Ruth Driscoll to support childhood cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
