Teacher, Dies Mrs. Sarah (Hanley) Moody, life-long resident of Bourne and long a teacher at Bourne High School, died Sunday at Barnstable County Hospital. She was 76. She leaves two sons. Carlton H. Moody of Gray Gables and Roger B. Moody of Cambridge, and two grandsons. Her late husband, Harry L. Moody, died in 1952. Mrs. Moody was daughter of Charles C. and Deborah Stevens Hanley. She attended school at Greenwich, R.I. and Boston University, taught school in Monmouth, ME and was principal of Marion Grammar School before joining the faculty of Bourne High School from which she retired in 1938. Interested in antiques and local history, Mrs. Moody was active on the Antiques Committee of the Old Colony Union Women's Club and Treasurer of the Bourne Historical Society. She was a trustee of Jonathan Bourne Public Library, Director of the Monument Neck Cemetery Association and a member of Tobey Hospital Guild and the Arbutus temple of Pythian Sisters. |
