About | Cape Cod Times March 3, 1999 William Stalker Wright Sr., 89, Retired plumber lifelong Bourne resident firefighter POCASSET - William Stalker Wright Sr., 89, a retired plumber, died Sunday at his home. Born in Boston, Mr. Wright was a lifelong resident of Bourne and educated in the Bourne school system. Mr. Wright delivered milk for the Kennsington Farm early in his life and also worked for the Town of Bourne for a short period of time. His primary occupation was as a plumber for SA Collins for 40 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed scalloping, fishing, gardening and refinishing furniture and his boat. A member of the Bourne Volunteer Fire Department, Mr. Wright retired after 40 years as a captain. He was also a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Grange and the First Baptist Church in Pocasset. Mr. Wright was also involved with the Boy Scouts as a scoutmaster and as a council member for many years. A funeral was held at the First Baptist Church, 298 Barlows Landing Road, Pocasset. Burial was in Cataumet Cemetery, County Road, Cataumet. Visiting hours were held in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. (Route 28), Bourne. |
