Bernice P. Harris Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1965
Date of Passing Apr 22, 2018
About On April 22, 2018, Bernice slipped away to join her Lord and Savior. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Devolia Harris and a brother, Eddie “Bobo” Harris. Born and raised in Springfield, she was a graduate of The High School of Commerce, a long time employee of Monsanto Chemical Company, and an avid sports enthusiast, whose interests ranged from NASCAR Racing to tennis and numerous sporting events in between. She loved to travel and established friendships all over the world. Bernice grew up and was nurtured in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She traveled extensively and visited many churches, but ultimately returned to Mt. Calvary. Bernice was a very social person and had a wide array of friends and associates. She was particularly fond of recalling her memories of participation with the “Even Uniques” and the “North Carolina Club”, both of Springfield. Bernice enjoyed a very special relationship with her step-son, Douglas Bogard and her god-daughter, Tanisha Narcisse Branch. She leaves a host of family, friends, cousins, and associates to cherish her memory. She will be sorely missed. The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 17 John St., followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Harrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
