Claire Elizabeth Bachand, 92, passed away peacefully in her home in Ludlow, on Dec. 6th, 2021. Born in Springfield, MA. She was the daughter of the late Hector and Clarabel (Charest) Bachand. She graduated from the High School of Commerce and worked for many U.S. Government agencies including NASA. Claire was a world traveler, spending two years for the U.S. Government in Europe where she also toured extensively, and then, following her retirement she continued traveling to such faraway places as China, Peru, Australia and New Zealand. She was a vivacious, outgoing woman who loved to cheer on “her” Red Sox. She was a devout communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Rene and his wife Mary Bachand. Claire leaves behind to cherish her memory a niece, Cheryl Miller-Gray (George) of Arizona, her cousins Leonard Charest and his wife Cynthia, of Ludlow and Barbara Charest and family of Agawam, as well as numerous cousins and friends. At Claire’s request there will be no calling hours. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena’s Church, 1023 Parker St. Springfield, MA. Burial will be private |
