| About | George Bell of Bedford lived 76 years filled with joy, humor, and kindness until his passing on February 22, 2024. Although unexpected, his loving family was by his side holding his hand when he passed. George was born on November 15, 1947 to the late Alwin and Eleanor Bell and raised in Needham, MA. He graduated from Needham High School in 1965 and went on to attend Norwich University. While at Norwich, George served as class president and was a member of the “Skull and Swords,” one of the highest honors conferred upon undergraduates. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam as a currier officer. George worked in sales for 3M Company and later Cohen Machinery in Bedford, NH. In retirement, George enjoyed exploring New England with the love of his life, Bev. George was also a talented writer, gifting family and friends with beautiful poems, some of which we’re still finding today. He loved spending time with his family especially his two granddaughters who everyone affectionately called “Gampy’s Girls.” He held many titles throughout his life, but the proudest by far were Husband, Father and Gampy. George was a gift. His joyful spirit and kind heart left an impression on everyone he met. Whether you knew him for minutes or years he made you feel important, special, and loved. May we all be lucky enough to have a “George” in our lives, or better yet, be one. George is survived by his loving wife Beverly Amery Bell, children Hilary Amery Forand and her husband Josh, Casey Bell and Abigail Bell, sister Janet Matlock and husband Pat, brother Art Bell and wife Robin, and two adoring grandchildren Harper and Isla. He will also be deeply missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. |
| Events | A Celebration of Life for George will be held on April 5, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 335 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104. All are welcome to attend and share in George's memory. |
