About | Westminster, VT, Robert Armand Parzych, 61, of Back Westminster Road, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 at the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, NH. He was born January 18, 1947 in Southbridge, MA, the second son of Stanley and Theresa (LeBlanc) Parzych. Bob attended schools in the Sturbridge area. After working in a variety of manufacturing jobs, Bob worked for a time as night security at Old Sturbridge Village. That position rekindled his interest in law enforcement and in 1972 Bob graduated from the Massachusetts Police Academy in Framingham and joined the Sturbridge Police Dept. In 1977 the family moved briefly to Claremont NH then settled in Bellows Falls, VT where Bob continued to work for the Police Dept. there, eventually working for the Windham County Sheriffs Dept. Upon leaving the law enforcement field, Bob worked at Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield, VT and other area businesses until ill health forced him to retire. Bob was very active in the United Electrical Workers Union, the Gold Wing Riders Association the Single Action Shooting Society and the Gun Owners of America. On Nov. 24, 1966 he married the former Linda J. Donais, who survives. Besides his wife of almost 42, years. He is also survived by two sons, Rob Parzych of Winooski and his partner Steve Porter, Toby Parzych of Westminster and his wife Christine. Two grandchildren Kate and Ryan Parzych also of Westminster; three brothers, Stanley, Michael and Raymond and their wives/partners, brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his very special aunt and uncle, Gloria and Rosario Peck of Holland, MA. Bob was a cowboy at heart, from his favorite John Wayne movies to his Louis L’Amour novels, the West was in his blood, even though he lived in New England his entire life. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Saint Charles church in Bellows Falls, VT at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the Sacred Heart Church hall on Green St., Bellows Falls, VT. The family requests that you wear comfortable clothing.
