| About | Joe passed away surrounded by his family. Joseph C. Barnes 1964 - 2012 WESTFIELD - Joseph C. Barnes 47, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in Brigham & Woman's Hospital in Boston. He was born on November 10, 1964 in Fort Meade, MD to the late Fred E. and Shirley A. (Barber) Barnes. He has been a resident of Westfield for the past 44 years and was a 1982 graduate of Westfield High School. He was a machinist at Westvaco in Enfield, CT for many years. He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Westfield. Joseph enjoyed fishing, target shooting, working on cars and computer repair. He leaves his wife of 25 years Anita J. (Timmerman) Barnes, his son Zachary Barnes and Meghan Barnes, his brothers, Michael Barnes of Westfield and Kevin Barnes of West Springfield, his sisters, Donna Armata of Westfield, Carolyn Barnes of S. Dennis, MA, Janice Dennett of Winthrop, ME, and Joy and Joan Barnes of Westfield. He also leaves his mother-in-law Hilly Timmerman of Enfield, CT. The funeral for Joseph will be held on Tuesday, February 28th at 1 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11-1 pm. Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Joseph C. Barnes Memorial Fund, c/o Westfield Bank, 26 Arnold Street, Westfield, MA 01085. |
